Deep-Sky Payload Manifesto

Real Gear. Real Skills. Infinite Futures.

The Lost Glitches Team – “We’re gamers, makers, and lifelong tinkerers. This pledge is our promise to start from genuine hacking tools, then imagine the future.”

We stand at a turning-point for cyber-themed games. For years, virtual “hacking” has been little more than neon window-dressing – sleek, imaginary gadgets that ignore the pioneers who build real-world tools. That ends here.

Deep-Sky Payload brings the authentic hardware of today’s hacking community into The Lost Glitches, not as knock-offs, but as fully licensed, brand-approved integrations. Together with HAK5, Flipper Devices, Rabbit Labs, AWOK Dynamics, O.MG, and JustCallMeKoko, and guided by educator Talking Sasquach, we invite players to learn the craft while they play – moving from make-believe exploits to hands-on understanding of signals, packets, and payloads.

Why We’re Doing This

PillarWhat it means
Reality-first world-buildingStart with licensed gear like Flipper Zero,Rubber Ducky or O.MG Cable, then leap forward into tomorrow’s tech. Fiction is welcome – so long as it stands on the shoulders of today’s innovators.
Education over sensationalismReal tools carry real responsibility. Our missions teach ethics, safety, and best-practice usage.
Community over isolationHardware creators, hackers, and gamers share a curiosity-driven mindset. Deep-Sky Payload unites those worlds and amplifies every voice.

Call to the Industry

Game developers, AAA giants, indie rebels, student teams – your players deserve better than generic “cyber sticks.” When you portray hacking, portray it honestly. Credit the inventors. Teach the craft. Celebrate the culture.

The Hardware Honesty Pledge

An open commitment for studios building in the cyber space.

License the Real
Obtain clear permission from hardware makers before using likenesses, names, or firmware.
1-B. When visualising speculative or future devices, ground them in established principles and acknowledge the real-world inspirations that paved the way.

Credit the Creators
Display brand names and acknowledgements in-game and in marketing materials.

Educate Responsibly
Pair every virtual device with accurate information, tutorials, or links to official resources.

Promote Ethical Use
Frame hacking as a tool for learning, security research, and creative exploration, never for harassment or crime.

Share with the Community
Engage hardware-hacking communities in testing, feedback, and content creation; spotlight their contributions.

Update & Maintain
Keep virtual representations current with real hardware revisions, new features, and evolving best practices.

Signed in Solidarity

Darren Kitchen, Founder – HAK5
“Hacking is best hands-on. I learned huddled behind the glow of a screen, cord running up a telephone pole. Phreak box in hand, dialing boards to lose myself to hacking and games. The two mix like a perfect cocktail, and The Lost Glitches gets that.”

Pavel Zhovner, Founder – Flipper Devices
“Flipper Zero started as a community passion project, bringing it into an equally passionate game world feels like the next logical hack.”

Rabbit Labs Team
“Our tools help people explore the RF spectrum. Deep-Sky Payload turns that exploration into an adventure.”

AWOK Dynamics Engineering Crew
““AWOK boards were not only built with the intent to spark curiosity, but also creativity. Now they’ll spark entire quest lines.”

JustCallMeKoko – Educator & Toolmaker
“Our main goal is to make security information and capabilities as accessible as possible. Teaching wireless security with videos is great, teaching it through gameplay is next-level.”

Talking Sasquach, Lead Educator – Deep-Sky Payload
“Kids learn faster when their hands and keyboards move together. These missions will make packet-sniffers as familiar as pickaxes in Minecraft.”
